Food within Kleinmond
The Bee & Kie Honey Factory is idyllically flanked by the mountains of Kleinmond in the Western Cape and the magnificent Atlantic Ocean. This factory works along with these industrious insects to produce some of the most delicious honeys in the country. Honey has a number of properties that makes it, not only a delicious treat, but also very important for the treatment of ailments (such as asthma, throat infections, burn wounds and arthritis). There are also a host of products that can be produced from honey. These products are produced and sold at Bee & Kie and include sweets, cosmetics, beauty products, candles, tea, and even furniture polish. Handmade honey gifts for weddings or mementoes are also available here. Honey and beeswax is sold in bulk, and honey is available ‘on tap\'. Simply bring along your container and fill it with a honey of your choice. There are about 10 to 15 different honey flavours (depending on the season and the flowers in bloom at the time). These include a number of fynbos varieties.
